Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta penne, spaghetti, or any shape
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes
  • Optional: 1 cup cooked chicken or shrimp

Method

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan, then sauté the garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in the Parmesan until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and toss until fully coated. Use pasta water if the sauce gets too thick.
